Microsoft messed up the Design Science Equation Editor -- or, rather, its text box properties -- with an update earlier this year. It took more than a month to come up with an update to undo the problem.
[on Edit] I meant Design Science MathType and not the Equation Editor incorporated in MSWord which I never use.
UPDATE: This problem suddenly resolved - within 45 minutes of updating Stata. I did not restart Stata or restart computer or download any additional Windows updates.
PREVIOUS POST ABOUT SAME PROBLEM: Of the two problems mentioned in this thread, I developed both today (16Sept2018) immediately after installing the latest update to Windows. I am running Windows 10 Pro. I do not have problems with the Windows clipboard on other applications.
The problems I developed were: 1) unable to copy graphs from Stata 15.1; and 2) Stata graph redraws after selecting "Edit, Copy" from menu on graph.
I have recently started using Stata 18, and for the first time today I happened to want to copy-and-paste between the Stata Graph Window and MS Word, and found that I could not. It has always worked for me before, and -- like many others it seems -- find this a very useful functionality. Interestingly, I currently have both Stata 17 and 18 installed on my machine (17 is personal; 18 is University network) and 17 still works just fine in this regard, yet 18 does not.
[ETA: I've also tried toggling the "Clipboard format" option under Graph Preferences, to no avail]
Did anyone ever work out the source of this issue? I notice some people have mentioned Windows updates, and as it happens I have recently had some updates -- but that wouldn't explain why Stata 17 still works OK?
Many thanks in advance.
(I'm using a Dell laptop with Windows 10 Enterprise edition)
