  • Command for Testing a Categorical Variable

    Hi All,

I am running some multivariate Cox PH models and I have a few categorical variables for which I want to run an overall LR chi-square test to find their significance. I remember there was a command I used that automatically does this for you after you have run your model (instead of having to calculate the -2Ln(L) yourself), but I just cannot remember what the command is or find it through searching.

If anyone can quickly remind me of what it is I would be very grateful.

    Thanks.

I wonder whether you mean the - lrtest - command.
    Best regards,

      Hi Marcos,

Thanks for the reply. I don't think lrtest is the one I was using. The command I was using allowed me to run an stcox command follow it up with '[command] variable' and would supply a significance test for that variable alone in the multivariate model.

      Cheers,
