  • Cobb-Douglas production function*

    Dear Stata users,
I have a problem and and your help would be much appreciated.
An looking at the effect of organic vegetable production on farm output using à Cobb-Douglas production function. I want to include organic vegetable practice as à variable in thé production function and so I generated the fitted values from à first stage. My problem is:
    1. Is my action acceptable ?
    2. If yes, do I need to consider the coefficient of organic vegetable practice when am calculating for returns to scale ?
    Thank you.

    This is a repost: http://www.statalist.org/forums/foru...ction-function

For generic advice on reposting and the like: see http://www.statalist.org/forums/help#adviceextras #1

For generic advice on why questions are not answered http://www.statalist.org/forums/help#noanswer

In this case, you're assuming that readers are economists (I am not one such) and know what you're talking about. That is probably a realistic approach, but your question #1 looks too open to be easily answered and #2 looks hard to answer without seeing your data and discussing your research goals.

So, reposting may elicit a good reply; if not, and in any case, the advice is to ask more specific questions. If you do that, please do not start a new thread, but add a more detailed post here.
