  • Congratulations to Nick Cox

I waited to see if someone else would remark on this....

Congratulations to Nick Cox for having over 10,000 posts. Whether we ask questions or just lurk (like me) we appreciate the immense amount of effort you put in to Statalis,

Thanks very much for this! Two Statalist stalwarts commented privately. I can tell you that nothing special happens at 10000.

And that doesn't even include the approximately 3,279,842 posts he had on the old list. ;-) Nick's efforts are indeed greatly appreciated!

Indeed, Nick is the pillar on which Statalist rests, an endless source of both Stata knowledge and world wisdom.

A couple of days ago, I checked the "counter" so as to send a message of congratulations to Nick exactly when he reached 10000 posts.

To no avail. Unfortunately, your speed is so high that I couldn't cope with tracking such a radical "moving average", so to speak.

In spite of my message coming with so many "lags", my sincere congratulations to you, Nick Cox.

Such a privilege we have in this Forum, really.

Words fail me to express how much I have learned - about Stata and stats - just by paying attention to your endless flow of savvy advice!

              Thanks again.

Congratulations. I am more of a 'lurker' than a contributor, but I echo everyone's appreciation for Nick's consistent support to this community. Thank you!

                    Kudos!

I've been away for some months, but always felt incredibly indebted to Nick Cox. Among the 10k posts, dozes were aimed at solving my questions. Thank you so much, Nick.

                    All the best,

                    Tiago

                      Congratulations, Nick Cox

I really appreciate the help i received from you in my fresh days (and still i am). Definitely, Stata forum would not be as useful as today in your absence. Thanks a lot for your invaluable contributions!

Thanks very much again for all the positive comments and private messages (even including the long-time friend who included the advice "get a life!").

Everyone knows this, but it's more important that Statalist depends on the joint efforts of many people answering questions and helping (persuading, cajoling) people into clearer questions and more focused thinking!

A glance at any of his posts or http://www.statalist.org/forums/memberlist shows that Clyde Schechter is next in line and may break 10000 in some months, so watch his tally.

Nick has been an incredible resource to Stata users since the early days. The elegance of his solutions, and the depth of his knowledge – especially of the history of statistics and statistical graphics – continue to inspire me.

Congrats! In looking to answer a post today, I ended up looking at countmatch from Nick. As usual the help file was very helpful!
