i did a small test, i run the frequencies of the age variable in spss both weighted and unweighted, then i went to stata and tried doing the same. Obviously unweighted frequencies matched in spss and stata, and whein i used iweight and aweight in stata they matched the weigthed frequencies i got in spss.
I dont have data set documentation, but i was instructed to always is this weight variable, ill try asking arround, i can easily get in touch with the people that built the database
