I realise I didn't express myself clearly. What I am looking to do is to edit the y axis such that the values it labels are [-5 5]. I wish to make no changes to the x axis.

How could I do this?

Indeed. You could try an extra option, something like

yla(-7/7)

or

yla(-6(2)6)
