Hi all,
I hope someone can help to solve this problem.
I am trying to use Stata 11 to open a dataset a friend has sent me via email. The dataset is in Stata format, as I see it when I look at the properties of the file (.dta). However, when I try to open it, Stata returns the r(610) code and indicates that the file is not in Stata format, but it is.
I did some research and I learned that my friend should save the data as an older version (e.g. saveold) and then send it back to me. The problem is that my friend just left the country and wont have access to Stata until Tuesday, and I need to look at the dataset before we meet again via Skype next week.
Is there a way to open the dataset (not sure, but i think he uses Stata 13 or 14) with my Stata 11?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Marcio
