Hello everyone,
I have combined and am attempting to analyze data from several NHANES (the 2007-2014) survey cycles. In the continuous NHANES tutorial, it states that in combining two or more 2 year cycles it is necessary to construct sample weights before beginning any analysis. It gives some general guidance, but doesn't provide specific code for accomplishing this task in Stata. I read the STATA Survey Reference Manual 14 (pg 182-3) on combining datasets from multiple surveys and the guidance isn't that informative. It states: "Combining datasets from multiple surveys is a complicated process, and Stata has no specific tools for this taskā¦" Though it does reference NHANES datasets from 1999-2000 and 2001-2002, this example isn't helpful. Does anyone know to construct sample weights for combined survey cycles?
